One conservative professor, Ernst Nolte, claimed that since The Soviet Union also instigated mass-murder,Germany was no worse. He also tried to show that the German Army was not engaged in terror, but only the SS. This was roundly rejected by a younger generation of German Historians, and this book demonstrates many cases of atrocity performed by the Wehrmacht (German Army).
